UPDF activists beat PCP worker in JN Hall

The activists of United Peoples Democratic Front (UPDF) entered the
Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University Thursday night and beat a Pahari
Chhatra Parishad (PCP) worker, reports UNB.
Residents said about a dozen anti-CHT peace treaty activists went to
several rooms of the hall in search of PCP workers and beat Nikhil Mitra
Chakma, secretary of Dhaka city PCP, the student wing of Jana Sanghati
Samity (JSS).
Nikhil was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) during
the night, but released after giving first aid.
During the attack, the PCP workers, however, overpowered the UPDF
activists and confined them inside the hall.
Later, the Hall Provost allowed the outsider UPDF activists to leave the
hall despite the PCP demand to hand them over to police.
The night attack came after the PCP workers obstructed the UPDF
activists from pasting their posters inside the Jagannath Hall premises
Thursday morning.
