Indian North-East Affairs Minister CP Thakur has blamed Bangladesh for the ongoing violence in Assam, pegging it as part of a big game played by Bangladesh to "destablise India."
A Press Trust of India report from Guwahati front-paged by the Indian Express said Thakur made the accusation after holding a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and federal State Minister for Home Affairs Swami Chinmaayanabd.
Pakistan was also bracketed with Bangladesh for the Assam unrest, which according to diplomats, is rooted in the state's socioeconomic problems.
But the Indian minister, as quoted by PTI, saw the violence in Assam as "part
of a big game" played by Bangladesh and Pakistan.
