Nov 10 : Janasanghati Samity President and Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council Chairman Jotirindra Bodipriya Larma, better known as Shantu Larma, yesterday alleged that the high ups in bureaucracy, aid and law enforcing agencies were obstructing implementation of the peace accord.
Paying tributes to the memories of the popular hills leader M N Larma at a memorial meeting here, Shantu Larma urged the Jumm nation to wage united movement to realise their rights through implementation of the peace deal.
Among others, Gonoforum presidium member Pankaj Bhattacharya, Dr. Hayat Mahmud of Jahangirnagar University, Prof. Mesbah Kamal of Dhaka University, Adhibashi forum leader Robindra Nath Saren, Khasia leader Johinul Khasia, Jatiya Krishak Samity leader Abdul Majid Chowdhury, President of PCP Ujjal Chakma and Hill Women Federation leader Chaitali Tripura addressed the function.
Senior Janasanghati leader Roktutpol Tripura presided over the meeting.
Meanwhile, armed terrorists shot at a jeep carrying Janasanghati members from Dighinala to the meeting at Dharmaghar in which driver of the vehicle Shebabrata Chakma received bullet injures. Janasanghati Samity accused anti-peace accord UPDF for the attack.
