Two arrested tribal youths brought to Dhaka for questioning

Feb 19: The two tribal youths, arrested with explosives from Bahaddarhat area on Monday night in the port city, were sent to Dhaka for interrogation today.

Sources said, Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) formed a four-member committee headed by AC of Panchlaish zone, Hasan Mohammed Shawkat Ali, to interrogate the arrested siblings.

The other members of the committee are OC of Chandgoan Mezbah Uddin, DB inspector Shahidullah and SB inspector Mahbubul Huq.

The CMP sent a letter to the army requesting for a specialist team to examine the explosives recovered from the arrested tribal youths.

The mobile team of Chandgoan thana police arrested Gonga Manik Tripura (35) and Bamha Tripura (25) hailing from village Goalmara under Lama upazila of Bandarban district, from the Bahaddarhat bus stand at about 8pm on Monday while they were moving suspiciously.
