A special programme to eradicate malaria began in three districts of Chittagong
Hill Tracts at a cost of Tk. 36 crore this month. Under the programme, training
will be given to 675 physicians, village doctors, field workers, family planning
activists and nurses in 15 batches to combat the menace.
Besides, training will be imparted to different groups of local people in each district with a view to creating social awareness.
Three research programme centres will also be set up in the districts for conducting
the programme smoothly, official sources said.
Meanwhile, health department has taken up separate programmes in three districts
to check the spread of the disease.
