Release of 2 PCP eaders demanded

BSS, Bandarban

A protest rally at Bandarban district press club premises on Friday demanded release of two Pahari Chhattra Parishad (PCP) leaders.

The rally was jointly organised by the district unit of PCP and Hill Women's Federation.

The speakers demanded immediate release of district PCP president Push Thwai Marma, 25 and leader Uthuai Marma, 23, from Bandarban Jail. The Hilly organisations also demanded immediate release of the PCP leaders.

The PCP leaders alleged that the members of the security forces arrested their two leaders unlawfully from Buddha Temple of Chemi Dalupara under sadar upazila of Bandarban on June 19.

Police, however said, an Army special team raided Chemi Dalupara and arrested two PCP leaders on charges of collecting illegal tolls from some traders in the areas on June 19.
