Attack on Prashit Khisa's motorcade: One killed

At least one person was killed and three injured when miscreants fired on a motorcade of UPDF candidate Prashit Bikash Khisa on Sunday.

The dead was identified as Bishuk Chakma, 23, Jotirmoy Tripura, 20. The injured are Sona Chakma, 23, Sunil Chakma, 20 and Jotirmoy Tripura.

The injured were rushed to Khagrachhari hospital.

The motorcade was attacked at Baroitali when the UPDF workers were returning from Panchhari after election campaign on Sunday afternoon, police said.

The UPDF blamed the Parbatya Chattagram Jano Songhati Samity (PCJSS) for the attack as it is opposing the election in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT).

The UPDF arranged a meeting at zero point of Panchhari in favour of its candidate Prashit Bikash Khisa.

The PCJSS activists intercepted the UPDF workers who were setting microphone and erecting pandal on the venue.
