Two tribal armed miscreants were arrested with three fire-arms including a German made highly sophisticated AK-47 rifle and huge ammunition from Rangamati yesterday.

Two other tribal youths were held with a SLR and huge ammunitions from a forest area at Matiranga in Khagrachhari on Wednesday last.

The arrested were identified as Proshanta Chakma, reportedly an ex-member of outlawed Shanti Bahini, and Amolendu Chakma, a cook in a camp of UPDF an organisation opposing the peace accord.

Police arrested them from Kashbon Camp, a dense forest area of Shuknachhari under Kaukhali thana in Rangamati yesterday morning.

Police arrested Proshanta and Amolendu with one AK-47 riffle, one LG and 61 rounds of bullets while six others managed to flee sensing the raid. Thirty rounds of empty cartridges and two magazines were also recovered from the camp. They were brought to Chittagong yesterday evening.
